Congratulations to our Year 10 students Nora, Saskia, Ivy and Nelli who won the Goethe Institute's Australia wide school competition „Unternehmen Deutsch - Enterprise German‘ with their innovative project called “SBS Kids”.
More than 300 students from 17 schools participated in the Australia-wide school project for professional orientation in 2018 and impressed the jury with their various innovative, interesting and creative business ideas for their chosen partner company.
The winning teams were announced in Melbourne on 9 November and the group SINN from our Year 10 impressed the jury with their especially well-thought-out idea called 'SBS Kids' for their partner company SBS German.
SBS German interviewed Year ten student Nora from the winning group SINN and GISS teacher and project mentor Denise Parsons after the awards ceremony in Melbourne.
Congratulations also to all other Year 10 students who participated and came up with great innovative ideas. A special thanks also to the project mentors Silvia Scholle and GISS teacher Denise Parsons who spent many months supporting the projects and our students.
Eva Baker, Deputy Director and Head of Language at the Goethe-Institute, is confident that the Enterprise German competition will continue to be a success in 2019. “By making the competition fun and interactive, we have found the motivation and engagement levels of all the students involved has been excellent. Next year the competition goes international, with students from Thailand, Singapore, New Zealand and Malaysia competing as well. We look forward to the 2019 competition and continuing to show students that learning German can open up an array of new opportunities, especially in the business world” she said.
