A Night to Remember: GISS Graduation 2024

The German International School Sydney (GISS) celebrated the achievements of its Year 12 graduates with a wonderful graduation at Zest that brought together students, teachers, and families for a night of pride, joy, and reflection.

The celebration was not only a recognition of academic success but also a testament to the friendships formed, challenges overcome, and aspirations nurtured within the school community. In his address, GISS Principal Michael Cordes spoke of the graduates’ remarkable journeys: “"Tonight, we celebrate not only the achievements of our graduates but also the learning journeys we were privileged to support as their partners. Their resilience, creativity, and passion for learning inspire us all."

Special guest, German Consul General, Felix Schwarz, also commended the students for their accomplishments and encouraged them to embrace the opportunities that lie ahead here in Australia or abroad. Another highlight of the evening was the recognition of the Year 12 IB cohort’s exceptional achievements. Many students have already received early University offer based on their impressive predicted marks, showcasing the calibre of education and dedication at GISS.

A special mention goes to Anton Scholz, who was nominated Dux of the Class of 2024, and, notably, two graduates known as "GISS babies" were celebrated for having been part of the school since Preschool, exemplifying a journey of growth and continuity within the GISS community.

As the graduates of 2024 step into the next chapters of their lives, the evening served as a poignant reminder of the strong foundation laid at GISS. With bright futures ahead, these young individuals carry with them the skills, values, and memories forged during their time at the school. Congratulations to the Class of 2024.
